The opportunities at UTS are amazing both socially and academically with many facilities. The staff and students are all friendly and willing to help. The standard of learnng is outstanding challenging and thought-provoking. Overall it's been an awesome experience!
Applying through UAC was simple and once I was offered a place enrolment at UTS was easy. Everyone came in for a day and staff were on hand to help you enrol for the first time. It was a little daunting thinking about it but once it was all done I can't imagine what I was worrying about!
Scholarships are available for a number of subjects and for a number of reasons particularly for those experiencing financial difficulties. Doing your research is essential to find out what there is. There are als prizes awarded for particular subjects. Again it's key to go and look for the prizes that could apply to you and then work hard to win it!
My combined law degree has taught me so much and I'm only in my first year! It was a change to high school but it's something that I have really enjoyed because it's a course that I am really interested in. The subjects are all taught exceptionally well and the lecturers and tutors are really friendly and helpful. It's been an amazing ride so far and I can't wait for the next four years!
Based in the city UTS has close access to a lot of places for food and entertainment. Even then the uni facilities themselves are great. The cafes food court and yes even then bar provide awesome food and drink and it's really good value for money (especially if you join the Union)! We may not have the prettiest campus but we still have amazing facilities like the gym and the library as well as lots of areas to just hang out. Looking for part time work is pretty easy too. UTS has a careers service and posts up job vacancies both at uni and other places around Sydney on boards around the uni as well as online.
My degree combines an essential practical component with the academics which is really useful as I don't have to complete this outside of uni time. UTS also has a good reptuation with employers with many graduates securing jobs as soon as they graduate. Alumni are also supported by the uni with many services available.
