The best part was to be in a multicultural environment which enabled an insight to other cultures and people.
I was studying at University of Canberra as a cross instituitional student. I would say that the admission and selection process was really easy. There was imense co-operation from administration considering that i was a cross instituional student so that included co-ordination with my uni back home. Since everything was done smoothly therefore I got really impressed with the friendly and transparent system.
Not applicable in my case as I was studying on self finance so i never considered this option.
i studied event management managing financial services firms and international marketing at UC. each course had its own charm like event management i had to do an internship with an event management firm which gave me a real life experience of the book concepts. Then i had to submit an extensive term paper about a hypothetical event; '4WD Expo in Bungendore' which involved planning implementation logistics and post event steps. it was a group assignment so together with the group i went to bungendore to see the location environment etc to get a real feel for the term paper. our event management course convenors used to invite guest speakers from the field of event managemnt every week that gave us a practical guide about this field international marketing provided a deep understanding of economics trading and marketing concepts with a geo-political perspective. it involved tutorial presentations and quizzes which kept us on toes all the time. managing financial services firms involved assignmnts on current financial issues such as the subprime crisis so it helped me understand the complexities. now when i read articles about subprime crisis in the newspaper i'm better able to understand what its saying.
i loved the refactory and library. overall university facilities are ok. i feel printing facilities in uni should be improved and should be made free for uni assignments. i live with my family so can't comment about uni accomodation facility. i have easily got part time work after uni so i would say its easy its just a matter of constant search (read: perseverence)
yes my job prospects have increased after finishing my last semester from an Australian uni. i'm now learning to drive. i have got an 'L' plate now striving to get a 'P'. I'm also working part time with DHCS and i am looking for a full time job now. i can't comment on opportunities through alumini as i havn't considered that option yet.
