The Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences degree is a structured program that develops student knowledge in the molecular, cellular, anatomical and physiological processes of the human body. There is a strong emphasis on developing scientific communication skills, scientific research and writing skills and high level analytical reasoning and critical thinking skills. Additionally, the program provides students with solid technical skills, developed by individual access to and use of state of the art scientific equipment. Extensive laboratory training and problem solving exercises, together with a case study approach to teaching, demonstrate to students the applications of biomedical science within a variety of clinical, research and allied healthcare settings.

Close friendships are forged with fellow students and teachers in lectures and tutorials. At the coffees shops and bars on campus, students rarely are alone for long. Gym and swimming pool are great places to meet new people while relaxing between study sessions. There are several student restaurants, cafes and bars circle the lake. On-campus accommodation is within easy walking distance of all university faculties.

The broad scope of the Biomedical Sciences degree ideally positions graduates to enter a wide range of professions involved in the healthcare industry. This includes employment in hospitals, health administration, the pharmaceutical, and diagnostic. I am planning to do a research based Honors qualifications after graduation. Hopefully that h would lead me to a PhD in the future.
