UQ is very famous for its civil engineering course. The most important advice I would give to international students is that you should prepare to wrok hard so that your study could lead to a bright future.
I was recommended by my lecturers in uni in Vietnam. I followed the instructions by the IDP and I was successful once I logged the forms for application. I was doing PhD under the sponsorship by Ministry of Education and Training.
The scholarship is available for me as I was working as an associate lecturer at my Uni. In order to secure a scholarship, you need to have high English language requirements.
The course is very value for money. The best bits are we could use the modern lab, and had the chance to work with high profile supervisors. I received all kinds of support that I needed. I spent about 40 hours to study a week.
Brisbane is a small city, very quiet and gentle. I enjoyed the local area very much. The fellow students are very friendly. Accommodation has been very cheap compared with Sydney and Melbourne. I was working in a local liquor shop. I did not participate in Student Union's activities.
I am working as a lecturer as a result of my studies. I will be keeping in touch with my fellow friends.
