Come prepared to experience new things, from attitudes to cultures and dont be afraid to explore academic fields which may be outside your comfort zone.
I took the SAT and the TOEFL test for admission. I prepared on my own by the various books available and also internet. I didnt take help of a counselor. I needed a Visa. My university sponsored me with a student's visa. The interview was to the point. Tickets were easy to get .I flew by British Airways. The airline was pretty good. I was not offered any discount. I landed at the Logan International Airport in Boston. I was not offered any baggage allowance .No I didnt face immigration issues. There was Meet and Greet at the airport.
All forms of scholarships available depends on the course. They are competitive.
I am happy with my program.Profesors are pretty good. Most/All have PhD's. Some lecture halls are old fashioned with blackboards and other are high tech with smart boards/projection systems. Library is HUGE! It's extremely well stocked and organized, not to mention there is plenty of space for both group and individual study.
I live on campus which is very convenient as the campus itself is small, all my classes are within 5 mins walking distance. It is great to live so close to all your friends and it is much more social than living far away from campus. Night life is so-so .Social scene is not very prominent as most students tend to socialize via house parties and/or events sponsored by other consortium schools. The weather is cold whenever I'm there (August-May). From October- February there is snow on the ground. There are many cultural student organizations such as ISA (International Students association), SASA (South Asian Students Association), CASA, LASO (Latin American Students Organization), MCS (Muslim Cultural Society) etc. Events focused on endorsing a multicultural mindset and allowing exposure to different culture via dinners, speakers, dances, cultural showcases, panel discussions, movie screenings and so forth.
Chances for international students are equivalent to a domestic student's chances of getting a job. There is an annual careers fair which draws many big companies to recruit seniors/graduate students and for undergraduate students to explore their options. Global organizations tend to attend larger career fair such as the main one held by the local government of Worcester and organized by local universities (including mine). Clark Students have free entry to the fair. I have no idea about work permit. There is an active alumni society careers services has an alumni network which is often used to link students up with alumni is relevant fields of work.
