The college life is not that enjoyeable as the facilities are not that much although we have to pay a lot of fees. There are no discipline in the classes as the students talk in between the lectures and it is very hard to understand what the chefs are teaching. Here at William Angliss, students have to be proactive and have to be a bit extra ordinary as some of the chefs are really good. And if you want you can learn more apart from your syllabus.
I first went to new zealand from india as i had family connection there. I didnt have to apply visa for new zealand but i had to apply for australia. It was easy for me to get a visa but because of being misguided by an immigration officer, I applied for a different visa. But later on, after getting the correct information regarding the visa which i had to apply, i applied it again and it was not very difficult. Getting an admission here was very easy.
I dont have any scholarship.
I am studying cookery. The course is pretty good. The subjects covered till now are not very detailed and we dont get good practice in cooking. I love the practical classes as i love cooking. The lectures are good and it actually depends on the tutors. The tutors are good and co-operative.
Library, pracitcals, kitchen, computers etc are the facilities, Besides that we have no gymnasium, no proper sports facilities, table tennis but bats broken, billairds but they charge for it. No parking facility. Initially it was not easy for me to get a job as i had no knowledge of australian industry. At present i am living with friends and the rent is not cheap nor expensive. I am not sure about student union as i have not been told of it or heard about it. I have not joined any clubs.
However, i think my studies will help me get a good job in the future.
