I am uni guy. I always prefer to be in uni and surrounded by my friends. My advice to my friends coming to Deakin would be that they need to be really crucial to prioritize their options as my uni is offering us lots of opportunities to explore our horizons and that makes me feel luck about it
I went to the spot interview arranged by IDP which was promoted in the local news paper. Deakin gave me offer letter straight away. This is what I call a stress free enrollment.
I was offered conditional offer letter as results of my last year in bachelor was not out yet. And because of that I did not put any afford to ask for scholarships. But I found after coming here that a person with an average grade had $1000 scholarship for every semester which was disappointing. I would like to tell every one to do some research before they select any uni.
My course is designed in such a manner that can occupy most of the business faculty student who want to learn something and also compatible with Permanent Residency requirements. my study period varies from subject to subject and semester to semester. It depends on many factors as jobs, family meetings, and university activities. My university has got all separate divisions and very humble and easily approachable consultant for each academic issue as assignments, grammar, language and other interactive activities.
My university is offering derivese range of international facilities like student counsellings, Leisure club membership, recruitment help, casual job opportunities to students, financial aids and many other which an international student may need during their student life at uni. Accommodation is quite expensive in Deakin I do not recommend any one this accommodation. For me part-time work was easy to find.
Yes, after studying in international university culture I have gained much more exposure which I could not have gained in my country or other unis. I have found in Australia that besides your qualification in education context employers also needs persons personal characteristics and his/her involvements in surrounding co-curricular activities. As my university has got separate Club and societies for after uni I would be in the alumni association.
