Overall, this was a great course which I did to supplement my knowledge in this area, and I found it really useful to my career as well, as course, to my personal information relating to this innovative area of study
I found the course admission prodedure overall not too taxing or time consuming; I had it completed in half a day. Really the hardest thing was getting all the forms together. I've since improved my filing system since then because I've realised that if you have all your paperwork in order you are far more likely to be able to get yourself sorted when it comes to administrative issues ( and we all know that admin stuff can be time consuming!)
I think there were funding and scholarship available but i wasnt in a position to need that. However, if you are interested in finding more about this I'm sure that there would be more information about this on the University of Tasmainia's website.
The course was lovely; better than I expected. Then, to be fair, I didnt really know what to expect as I had been working full time for years and wasn't sure how I would take to student life again. But then, as I mentioned, the course was really good- the help from the academics at the university was better than expected and overall I was impressed with the high level of help that students at that uni can recieve.
The campus is a picaresque, very natural surroundings and it was a pleasure to study there. The fresh air was the best thing about it, espicially after I'd come from a more urban, industrialized area. The student union are there if you need them; all helpful and ready to assist and if you're into it, there are lots of social events that you can attend. But being married and a bit older, this wasn't really the scene for me!
I do indeed believe that my job prospects have improved because of this course. It looks great on the resume and has opened up more opportunities than I expected because of this course. And being a grad cert, it is only a semester full time, so not very long and I believe, very worth it for the professional edge it can give you!
