ratingSelection process and gaining admission

I gave the GRE and TOEFL exams, I prepared for the exams by reading books and various materials. I applied for the Ford fellowship and was successful in obtaining one, which took care of my expenses and helped me in completing my education without financial obligations. The selection for the fellowship is very competitive. I needed a VISA, the VISA interview was easy and I didn’t face many problems. The immigration check went smoothly. I was picked up from the airport by a senior who was also a ford fellow and I didnt have any problem in getting around, I was helped by the senior.

The program was great and well structured. The professors are excellent and they handled the film course well.

I lived off campus as the hostel facility is expensive. The apartments are cheap, they are available in Lawrence at around $700 per month for two people and the expenses for eating etc will come around $100 per month. It is little difficult to get part time jobs very competitive but be ready for any kind of job like janitor, cleaning etc. The social scene is very good.

The placement cell is good. Different departments have different placement cells, so you should contact the department to know about the status of the placements, by the way I have taken up further studies and am doing a PHD in the university of Minnesota. The college has an alumni society. The alumni is active.
