ratingOverall experience

I learned from my previous teachers that UQ is very strong in Food Technology, so I applied to study in this University after I got the scholarship from Ausaid. What I can advise to you is that you need to prepare a lot of paperwork to apply for study, so it is very time consuming. Try to plan ahead, and it would be easier for you.

ratingSelection process and gaining admission

The selection process is very easy and I find that the admin staff are very helpful and understanding. I dont think the application was stringent for me. In order to have a stress-free application, you need to prepare all the necessary documents, and you will be alright.

I reiceived the scholarship from Ausaid, an Australian government-sponsored scholarship. I find it on the local newspapers in my home country. This is the scholarships for high-achieving international students in developing countries. This scholarship provides tuition, living expenses and related costs.

The lecturers and tutors that I worked with are extremely nice and easy-going. I spent 34 hours to study each week. Every semester I took 4 subjects. The course was very value for money. I received all the support that I needed.

The university facilities are very good with high-tech equipment. I enjoy the quiet local areas of Brisbane where the Brisbane river flows through the city. Accommodation was very cheap compared to Melbourne or Sydney, but it is very hot in summer. We had to go to the shopping centres to escape the heat during summers. It was easy for me to find part time job. The Students Union was very helpful, they helped me to find my part time job, working in a local restaurant. I joined a number of clubs and societies.

ratingJob prospects

I returned home and become the lecturer in my previous university in Vietnam. I still keep in touch with my fellow friends and lecturers . I plan to come back soon to pursue further studies in PhD.
