My decision to stay and study in Glasgow is based on an intuitive connection I have with Glasgow. I feel that it is a place that encourages artists to work.
It is hard to compare studying in the UK to anything else as I only did a few short courses when I was living in Denmark.
There are lots of artist-run activities, lots of shows and spaces you can apply for. It is a place that makes it possible to get going as an artist, even as an unknown and I found I was able to exhibit even while I was only studying my bachelors degree. I do think of myself as Glaswegian. The city has made us feel a part of it.
I am now an artist, DJ and graphic designer. I create sculptural installations from a range of materials and although my work is difficult in terms of its salability, I have just had my first solo exhibition, recently sold my first complete installation and now have my own studio for the first time.
