University experience has been so far so good, but what I think can be improved is weekly meetings amongst students, faculties to inculcate new ideas and to get along working in a group. For fellow students apart from regular stuff I think one should make sure which all courses are of interest, talk to professors before deciding on majors. Do enough research before committing to something. At this level one should know what to do and what not in order to survive so my advice is keep it simple and focus on own's respective goal.

It was pretty easy as my GRE scores were good, I had good recommendations, work experience, also I had admits from various other universities such as University Of Florida, USC (Southern California). The mantra is to focus on GRE , TOEFL, recommendations, internships etc. Visa process was a cakewalk, questions were pretty straightforward and I travelled by British Airways via London to Philadelphia and then took a bus.

I am currently paying for my own education, although it is worth every penny.

I think the courses are good but there should be more interaction amongst students, faculty to maximize the output. As professors do not have open door policy it sometimes becomes difficult to clear doubts.

Facilities are excellent, students and locals are helpful. My rent is 250$/month and yes I was working in the dinning commons for a part time job. We have IGSA (Indian Graduate Student Association) which organizes events from time to time, celebrating festivals etc. Mostly people prefer to do their own thing. I do bowling, go to pubs spend time with friends.

I definitely think that my job prospects have increased, but these days placements are less because of recession. Previously everyone ended up with a job but now things are different, companies prefer Americans over International people. I hope by the time we graduate things improve. I will definitely be part of the alumni group.
