It was a good experience going back to study – I was nervous at first because I had not studied for a long time.. But it turned out that I was really comfortable at TAFE. I studied at Sydney Institute at Randwick College.

I studied at Sydney Institute at Randwick College. It is a nice, friendly campus with lots of grassy areas, so it was a great environment to be in. The study pace was great, the teachers were great and there was a lot of other students my age and at the same level as me. The teachers always had time for you, even outside of class. They were always there for advice, to help out with past exam papers and the like. Any issues you had were very professionally dealt with.

I did accounts work back in Malta. When I came to Sydney I wanted to get local Australian experience and needed my Australian qualifications to back me. I wanted practical work-based training to get straight back into the industry and TAFE provided the best way. The course really helped me. I started looking for a job in accounts and two weeks later I got one.. I know that was because of TAFE. I knew I had done the right thing going to TAFE and it was a good move. With jobs so hard to come by in this economic climate, I was amazed it only took me two weeks..
