It is a good growing university, with a lot of potential. The environment was very good with few PhDs in my lab with whom I learned a lot. Well, it was summer and we enjoyed ourselves.
I got the internship through my department internship system. I landed at JFK airport, NY and thats around 20-25 miles from the institution. I went by Etihaad Airlines and the baggage allowed was: Two 22 kg baggage and one 12kg handbag. There were no issues for immigration, it went pretty smoothly. There was no one from the university, which they had informed us before hand. So we had arranged for the same.
We were offered a few projects by the professors, and we had to choose one of them based on our interests. The professor was very helping and encouraging. The environment was very good with few PhDs in my lab with whom I learned a lot. We had very good library and sports facilities.
We had our own separate accommodation arrangement. The social scene was very open and friendly. The night life in New York is awesome. Well it was summer and we enjoyed at the beaches.
