I am happy to join here, VCU School of engineering in its development stage. They are putting a lot in research and development. I believe it is a good beginning to start with a developing institution where you'll find yourself to be the forefather of many processes.

I had to give GRE & TOEFL. Preparation was all self study. I did not use any counselors. I needed a Visa, Interview was very nice. Visa interview experience was easy. Getting a ticket was easy, I flew Austrian air line. It was very good, but no student fare was offered. I landed at Washington Dulles. Two bags each of 23 Kg. No excess baggage allowed. I did not face any immigration issues. University helped for pick up.

I am happy to join here. Professors are excellent. They are helping always. Lecture halls are very good. Library is not that good as was in IIT kanpur. The university is good in getting grants from companies and maintaining relations with them.

I live in rented shared accommodation. It is tuff to get a part time job in this university. Social Life in city is good. Nightlife is not good. Weather is nice .There is a international student society in my university .IT is involved in organizing events like coffee hour, educational trips, hiking etc. They also display movies every week.

We have campus placement here at VCU and many companies visit us to take students for internships and jobs. School of Engineering was started few years back and it has covered a long way to make a place in big organizations. Companies like Motorola, Qimonda , Intel etc. hire Graduate and Undergraduate students. VCU has developed good relations with Alumni. They easily get work permit. Alumni network is very active They do help .
