Hands on experience San Jose State University

I had originally applied to 3 universities but San Jose State was my first choice. The university has lived up to my expectation and I have had a great time.
My Bachelors was in ECE. I had to give the usual GRE and TOEFL exams. The University admission office was quite helpful. Visa interview was very quick - it seemed like it went on forever but it was all over in a matter of 5-10 minutes. I had to travel to Chennai for my Visa interview.
I was able to develop a good rapport with my professor. The university had a wide range of labs and this helped us gain hands on experience.there were also a large number of specializations to choose from and that was useful.
You have to learn to do a lot of things on your own. It is better to stay off campus with like minded people. I suggest using social networking websites to find people heading to the same university. Most universities don't have on campus housing and it is usually quite expensive. When at uni a car is not necessary but once you start working a car is a must in the US - it is a big handicap if you dont have a car.
The course has good job prospects
