UT Austin is a great University in terms of academics as well as the social aspect. The city has a lot to offer and so do the classes and professors. My major, Human Development and Family Science is one of the most popular major in the college of Natural Science, it deals with more psychology based courses, and has a broad list of career options after graduating. There are a lot of helpful people at UT that can get students started on the right track. If there is any orientation offered for abroad students I highly encourage you to attend. The classes and professors differ depending on your major, subject and as well as who you get. There is a site called pickaprof.com, which is an excellent guide on professors, it gives you reviews, and percentages of grades so that you can pick the right professor. Cost of living is a little high, but I recommend living on campus your first year. Otherwise there is west campus, which can be cheap or expensive depending on how nice of place you want to live in. Then there is also Riverside, which is further away then west campus but a lot cheaper. The Diversity at UT is amazing and there are a lot of organizations to join and a lot of events to go to. The night life is amazing there are a huge variety of restaurants to go to and at night there is alway downtown, 6th street, Which is a long strip of bars and clubs to hang out at. Over all UT offers a well rounded experience in terms of fun and academics.
