i am not enjoying my college life very well. I came all the way here to do a course in nursing, back in my country holmesglen accepted my admission and i get offer letter and COE. After arriving, holmesglen asked me to do general english course as my IELTS score was not good. Now after completed 20 weeks of GE course, they have further asked me to do 10 week course in english, i feel i am wasting my time and money. My advice for students is do good in english IELTS otherwise u will be like me studying english for year.
I applied from through a person and i did not look at the offer letter. I did know i had to study here english first. I trusted him but he lied to me.
Around 40% of my loan and fees has been finished on english course, so i am losing money and i dont know if i can pay money for my course.
In my course, i practice listening speakin reading writing. it also helps in grammar. i dont study much but i practice speaking and read books to improve it. Tutors speak and help in a good way. The help me improve my accent also. As i really want to learn speaking english i enjoy my classes here.
We have our own lab where we can watch movies, books, audio which we can use to helping improve our english. The nearest town is the city, which i go on weekends with my friends and it is a beautiful place at night. I dont work at the moment i went for interviews but i didnt get selected i stay with my friend s and i share house. I havent joined the clubs and societies. The international students are easy to make friends but not the locals because we cannot understand each other. But after my english will improve i will make lot of friends.
no job after finishing this english course, it only good to help english. I want to do nursing which will get me job later on. I will join the alumni also
