As a student from India, I felt home away from home. For some it can be a boon for others a bane. Having spent all of my childhood and college days staying with parents, I was a little apprehensive about staying in a different nation. It was re assuring to see a lot of Indians. The coursework here is pretty good and tailor made to suit the telecom industry lined up on the telecom corridor. The university is a little far away from the Dallas downtown so the party scene is not that good compared to other universities.
The process was easy. I did not do anything extra to gain admission. A decent GRE score did the trick.
Keep e - mailing professors and establish a contact pretty early. Keep sending them e - mails and have them updated even when you don't get a reply. Funding scene is as bad as other universities
It was pretty challenging.
As I said, lot of Indians. The party scene is not all that great. Got a great gym facility. The ISA/Student govt here does a neat job. There are a lot of socities and students can make sure that they are occupied for most of the day.
The prospects is good. Having the telecomm corridor nearby does have its pluses.
Located in Texas.
