UNSW is a fantastic university to be at. It is a large institution which can seem daunting, but I have grown to love the atmosphere which comes from there being such a huge diversity of students and staff on campus. There is always something interesting happening, always something to get involved in. Despite some large classes, my experience of staff is that they all remain very approachable and go out of their way to help you.
I was admitted via the UAC application system using my UAI. The university website was helpful in guiding me through while I was choosin my cours and also once I was accepted. It was more my high school that advised me through the application process.
I am paying for my course through the government's HECS-HELP scheme. I loooked into scholarships, however was disappointed by a lack of choice in the Arts faculty.
Development studies can be challenging and even confronting, but it also fascinatingand rewarding. The course content i sdiverse, and for most assignments you are able to choose what you study in depth depending on what issues/ areas of the world interest you. There is ample study support as all tutors give extra consultation times, and there is extensive private tutoring available on campus.
Facilities are fantastic. There are cafes, shops, a gym, a pool. The library is amazing for studying and there are also other study areas designated.
I believe that my employability will certainly rise after having a degree from this reputable institution, especially because of the compulsory year of exchange which shows a certain level of maturity and initiative when undertaken as part of the course.
