Holmesglen has been like a home to me, i have lived near the campus throughout my stay in melbourne. It is conveniently located and well connected by transport and my friends study here too. It is not bad to review the institute in which you want to join before you come, and also the rent and accomodation fees.
We have ongoing career fairs in my country where colleges and institutes from different countries come and tell us about eh courses offered. I applied for couple of the courses as the application fees were not applicable. Later i chose holmesglen because of its name and because my friends were already studying there and gave me good feedback.
There is mick young scholarship which anyone can apply, we have to fill in an application form, i have tried it before but i did not get any luck. I pay my own full fees.
My course is related to IT. Infact, I did not go to uni straightaway as my friends kept on telling me to avoid going to uni because i am not used to the education system here, so i dont want to risk. They told me to go for tafe which will give a round about idea about the education system and also credits upon completion and then i can join uni after having got used to australian education. I study 3-10 hours on top on normal tafe class hours per week. The faculty is nice and i can see the difference between what i was used to and what i am used to now. This course is a value for money.
We have the gym, labs, library, restaurant, cafe student help desk, job assistance. We have all that a student needs. all we need is the student to move forward and use these services. I live with my friends in a quiet suburb and i love the peaceful neighbourhood. My friends have helped me and encouraged me a lot in finding a job, as it is very difficult to find job in IT field, i am working in some other field due to my friends help, otherwise finding job is hard. I live with my friends and it is cheaper for me. I have not joined any clubs but u buy tikets on discount that are sold at our institute.
Not really, there are many competitors, holding bachelors degree or master degree.. i want to study and get bachelors degree the i will hav e adiploma and a bachelors degree which will increase my chances of getting employed.
