My advice to students is that try everything, go to events and enjoy all the facilities on offer. You will realise afterwards how new easy life was at university, so really make the most of it.
The selection process required HSC and TER marks. Quite high marks where needed to get in to the university at the time.
Scholarships (HECS) are available.
I used to study 40 hours per week and I enjoyed labs the most and my final thesis year.
The university has really good facilities - even better now after graduation with renovations and up gradation. A lot of local eateries in Kensington/Kings ford and lots of on-site student accommodations are available.
Job prospects did increase. Even though I don't work in my field, having a degree is still recognised in the workplace. I have kept in touch with quite a few friends met at university. There is an alumni association.
