It is world’s best place to live and study. The politics, people everyone is very nice. I am enjoying my time here in Melbourne making new friends and learning useful things. In short, Monday – Friday = work and study, Saturday-Sunday = Enjoy.
The visa process was easy. I was given lot of unis, colleges, tafes to choose from. I was really confused because everyone was good in its own way. It took me 2 weeks to decide which course I wanted to study and also the right institution. The company was very helpful and assisted me in filing my docs for visa and getting coe. I have no complaints.
There wasn’t scholarship for me. I pay my own fees. It is good to pay your own fees and have it arranged from before because when you come here, you will have to work hard and then you might miss your classes in order to collect money for fees and this is not suitable to students who have come here to study.
I am studying Certificate IV in hairdressing. I started with Cert III, I was taught everything I needed to know. This course is very fashionable and not very hard. The teachers are caring and even if we are wrong they are very nice and show us the right way, there is no getting upset or angry in the class. I will complete this course soon. I think it is a value for money.
Everything is here, we have internet, restaurants, student support and counseling. I get to study right in the city. The locals are very friendly and talking with them can improve your accent and English. Finding accommodation has not been a problem for me because, it was arranged before I came. I didn’t get job for 6 months but later I got, I wasn’t very comfortable to work straight away so it took me some time to get a job. There is more opportunity for full time workers.
I will be a senior hair dresser, I wish to study further and get a diploma. At the moment, I am working part time as a hair dresser and after I complete my diploma, I will work full time and I may even open my own salon. I will keep in touch with the friends here and also my teachers, I will join the alumni.
