Hi guys I am Simi I completed my MS from the New Jersey institute of Technology in NY. I had a great time in the US. Technically this was not the first time I was studying abroad. Since my parents were working in the middle east, I completed my schooling there.
Gaining Admission was not very difficult.. of course you have to go through the usual GRE/ TOEFL routine. Other than that the VISA interview was nt very difficult. In my Ccase the VO asked only 3 questions which univ...plans after ms( I gave him the usual .. i wld like to come back to india and work for some big company like tcs or wipro story ,and also told him that since US degrees are highly respected back here in india ,i am sure i'll be left with more oppurtunities once i get back)...why have u been to the middle east(I told him that I did my schooling in the middle east)..thats it...didnt check even one doc of mine..
NJIT is a good school, great facilities. It will be very different from what students are usually used to in India. The research facilities are just amazing. One is just drawn into the oceans of research which is conducted at these big universities.
India now has amazing job opportunities. Bangalore is flooded with people with American degrees and the demand keeps growing with cities like Chennai and Hyderabad expanding in the IT sector. So I guess there will be immense job opportunities for engineering graduates not just in the US but also in India. In fat the salaries in India are now comparable to those in the US.
