The student life here requires you to learn by yourself rather than the teaching that you get at college. You need to work on your own while you are here. Every now and then, i go around with my classmates, there are activities too. Team work is very important here so initially students might find some difficulty.
I applied through an agent from my country. They gave me a list of 5 colleges. Material science was being offered only at RP. To get entry, i was required to give an english test. I had to give that in Myanmar, it was quite easy.
I dont get any scholarship. As for international students even if they get it, i think the students need to repay the loan
I am studying material science. The course is about micro electronic materials - like how material works, and why it fails at times. At present i am in my second semester. I did enjoy my first semester. In our class, our class is divided into teams, like 5 different teams. So group work and team work is important. There are times when the teachers cannot observe the whole class. I study for 5 days in a week.
We have laboratory, bio labs, library, borrow books. There is also a hostel. I live elsewhere not in the hostel as i have found a relatively cheaper accommodation. I do work part time, its kind of hard at times. I cannot work the whole day, just evening time i work. We have limited hours of work that is the reason. In my free time, i enjoy mathematics or sometimes movies.
After i finish my diploma from here, i plan to go to United States to complete my further degree.
