I had a wonderful time studying at Macquarie University. I made so many new friends from different nationalities, was a part of several clubs and events. Came to meet exchange students and had lots of fun on campus and in Sydney City. The Harbor Bridge and Sydney Opera House are simply amazing. Also had the opportunity to see the Mardi Gras Parade for 2 consecutive years. The environment here is simple breathtaking and the fast city life really is so much fun.
The admission process was not too hard. A good score in IELTS is required for admission and Visa process is also very easy.Help can be found at organizations in your home country for admission procedures and settling down help.
Regarding Scholarships, I'm afraid there aren't many and what are available are really competitive and hard to get. You can contact your academic department to get more information regarding scholarships available to you.
Excellent professors and faculty. They have a lot of knowledge and keep themselves updated regularly which really helps us to get a good understanding during class discussions and knowledge sharing. The class is of great diversity and so we are exposed to a lot of cultures which will definitely be good in the long run for us in our future careers.
Macquarie is filled with lots of clubs and pretty much everyday some event or the other takes place. I stayed on campus at Macquarie Village. Its slightly expensive but gets you acquainted with a lot of students in the University as there is an excellent student community at the Village. Part time jobs are available in plenty and one can take advantage of these to reduce their expenses during their study.
Job prospectus seems good for business courses, but I'm not sure how good it will be in today's financial crisis. I hope when I graduate things would be better and I get a good Job offer in hand. For the moment, internship opportunities are there which many of the local students can take advantage of. However, I'm still in search for one.
