Have clarity as to why you want a degree and why from that particular B School. Mob mentality wont help.
I Appeared for GMAT & TOEFL exam. Many universities waive TOEFL requirement. But this college didnt. It was entirely Self Study, I dont think coaching is required. No services hired, everything went smoothly. Nothing unusual regarding my visa interview. Had prepared well using online resources. Had prepared my responses for general interview questions. Plenty of flights available to Pittsburgh. There are no direct flights though. We need to change flights from NY. I chose Air India, I landed at Pittsburgh. Earlier baggage rules were different, 32 Kgs of two bags each. Now they have changed it to 23 Kgs two bags each. Air India allows additional bag for students. No Immigration problems faced. Seniors came to pick me up.
I have received 16k scholarship.
The faculty is good. The MBA program is very nicely structured. Infrastructure is good. Mervis hall is really a state of art. WiFi Enabled campus. Co-operative faculty members. Even the admin staff is very helpful.
I stay in off campus accomodation. There are plenty of on campus jobs available. We can work as librarians, correct papers of undergrad students etc. Social scene is good. An international student society called ANKUR exists. It helps with picking newly arrived students from airports, giving them temporary accommodations, permanent accommodations. They also organize many cultural festivals.
Career service is available. Job placements for international students is moderate. Its tough to get a job now. Its mainly through good contacts. CS helps by giving training to all the students on how to market self in corporate world. Building effective resumes, how to give interviews etc. Alumni network is good. They often help students with summer internships and then sometimes with jobs.
