college is sweet. loving the parties and the mates. also loving my course. enjoying the content and the subjects. advice for coming to university . . . .prepare your minds, and your livers.
It was pretty easy to get in. I received a uai after completing the hsc. also coming from a rural area i received and extra 4 points on top of my uai which helped. stress free application would involve handing all forms in on time.
there are heaps of scholarships available for mining engineering because of the resource boom, companies are supporting students because they need more staff. also government assistance helps to pay for accommodation.
course is hectic, involves a lot of hours and a lot of study at home if you really want to succeed and get the top marks. involves a wide range of subjects which cover all basis of mining engineering. i prob study up to 20hrs a week, a lot more come exam time. course is expensive but in the end you will be earning big dollars.
facilities are good, with good workshops and lecture theaters. the thing i enjoy about the area is the social environment and the beach culture. accommodation is fantastic, living on campus you meet some great people and enjoy some wild parties.
excellent job prospects for mining engineering! practically guaranteed a job at end of course.
