I havent had much fun in Deakin. I myself am a new student, and yet to see what deakin hasgot to offer. Well, come to Deakin and be prepared for anything, there maybe working and non working days, so keep yourself financially stable.
My agent did everything for me. I was returning to study after a gap 12years. It was easy for me to get admission as I had bachelors degree and experience except for the visa which took around 6-8 months.
I pay my own fees, but i think deakin has provisions for good students by offering scholarships
my course is about accounts and commerce, its to do with book keeping. So far i am enjoying a multi cultural class, working in groups. My lecturers are very friendly and they never say no to my questions. it is worth the money.
University really takes care of us by providing us with halal meat, we have our own prayer rooms and i really appreciate this facility. They respect our culture and religion and i respect theirs. The locals are very peaceful and loving people. My accomodation is I rent a single room, i pay my own rent and cook own food and it turns out to be expensive. Its not the exact value for money, its expensive. I am still looking for part-time jobs, i haven't found any suitable one. I havent joined the student union and i don't know much about it.
I think a degree will help me get job. I will keep in touch with all my frens that i have come across at deakin. I will join the alumni for that matter.
