I realized that a Masters degree is inevitable for my professional growth and to enhance my skills. An MS from the States gives you a global exposure. I selected Stony Brook as it was one of the top notch univ in CS..good research going on in the field of Networking...which was my field of interest. I had also communicated with professors working there-prof Sekar and prof Steve, they inspired me to apply and go to this univ.

ratingSelection process and gaining admission

I had obtained first class with distinction in my UG. I also had some work experience as I'd joined a firm immediately on completing my UG. The VO was impressed with that! The VO kept on asking me if I would like to work in the US after my degree. I had a real tough time assuring her that I intended to get back to India after my program. If you can convince them of that then you'll definitely get the visa.

My parents were my sponsors and they funded my education entirely.

It was a pretty good program...really lived upto my expectations. I was mostly taken up with the superb research facilities in the dept...up to date and everything.
