The University of Massachusetts is a national research university recognized for superb faculty and outstanding teaching. On completing my undergrad from BITS-Pilani I had set my heart on doing my Masters in UMass. Their Mechanical engineering program was just tailored to suit my background.My field of interest was application of AI techniques to FEA and I found research programs going on in those fields at the UMass. A great prog!

ratingSelection process and gaining admission

My undergrad score was 73%. I also got reasonably good scores in my GRE and TOEFL. One tip I have for future students is to have a sense of humour in your visa interview. It always helps. But don't cross the line. I remember the VO asking me I could make a robot for him after completing my MS ! Just be cool and confident and you could get thro easily.
