If ur looking to do ur Masters in VSLI, I'd suggest NJIT. Their research facilities are outstanding and the faculty are really interested in helping u out. I had taken couple of courses like VHDL,VLSI design courses during my Btech course and learnt computer aided designing tools for VLSI... this kindled my interest and I wanted to complete my Masters at a really reputed institution. In this regard I can say that NJIT really lived upto its name.

My visa interview was easy. A few tips that I'd like to share with students--vo's love to listen about ur subject n want to test ur interest in ur chosen subject, so go prepared. Arrange the documents in ur folder properly in an oredrly fashion and when asked about few companies which offer u job,try to tell indian companies. Last but not the least is the most key factor..that is confidence..confidence..confidence.stay cool,calm,poised.vo's like smart people.

VLSI has very interesting applications in high speed computing,consumer electronics,telecommunications etc ..basically wherever IC's are required. So getting a good job will not be a problem...just see that u get ur grades and maintain good networking contacts.
