The overall environment at the University of Glasgow Business School is nice and friendly. Even though the students all had different educational and professional backgrounds, we respected each other and accepted different opinions and viewpoints. As an international student, to be familiar with the coursework and expectations, and to be comfortable in the environment would be very important, and the staff definitely help in this a lot.

I enjoyed the learning process, even when I was buried in more than 20 different reference books. The programme strengthened my strategic thinking and my understanding of organisation behaviour. It enhanced my logical, strategic and rational thinking processes when dealing with business issues.

I chose to complete an MBA, because I wanted to expand my future career possibilities and acquire more experience in a multi-national environment, working with people from difference cultures. All of those qualities have changed my career prospects. Now I am a Principle Auditor with Prudential Life Assurance. To be an auditor, one of the most important skills is communication. I use a strategic and logical thinking process to advise clients and propose the best practice and recommendations. The workload was heavy, and at times staying up all night for assignments could be painful.. At these times I looked for other classmates to have brainstorming sessions, which produced more insights for the assignment. Before I started my MBA, I had worked for 9 years, so I was able to save some money to pay for the programme. It is a huge investment, I have to say, but I have not regretted it. If I had it to do over again, I would, 100%. Over the next 5 years, I hope to achieve a higher position in my organisation, and seek out more challenges. The course has changed me in terms of my career path, and even my personal life. And, of course, the paycheques have changed as well..
