I would ask aspiring juniors to choose their course based on their liking of subjects offered and the research areas they are interested in.

I took GRE & TOEFL. I prepared at home. I needed a VISA. Interview was short and to the point. Tickets were easy to obtain. I flew Qatar. Experience was good. It did have some student package. I landed at Washington Dulles Airport. One more flight was taken to the city of my university, where the airport and the university are half hour by car. 2 check-in boxes were allowed and 1 hand-baggage. Additionally, I could carry a laptop back-pack. In certain circumstances, if availed, one can check-in 3 boxes. Each box should not weigh beyond 23 kgs. There were no immigration issues. There was no "meet & greet" service at the airport.

I am happy with the program. I am yet to understand the system and just 3 weeks into the course, so cannot really comment on the professors. Lecture halls are spacious and have good acoustics and lighting. Libraries are simply great.

I live off-campus with friends. Social scene is semi-urban. Night life is partially present. Weather is pleasant now, but winters are long and very cold. There is an international society. They hold Diwali nights and the like.

There is a placement cell. International placements do happen. I'm yet to find out the structure of their work. There is an Alumni society, which is extremely active and does help with placements.
