University is good overall. I would surely recommend all my friends.
I wrote GRE as well as TOEFL with help from Time coaching institute. I used a private counselor for my visa as well as application process and the experience was good. Visa interview was a cakewalk and I flew directly to Newyork by Air India and from there took a bus to come to state college. Someone from IGSA (Indian Graduate Student Association was there to pick me up at the bus stop. Excess baggage was allowed on the flight.
My program and faculty are good.
I am staying off campus and currently have no funding as such. Sports and recreation facilities are top class. Getting part time jobs is difficult as SSN (Social Security Number) takes time to be processed and one cannot work without that. Night life is too good where as weather as such is pleasant these days. IGSA takes care of all programs and special events.
University placements are good overall but as we all know this year due to recession the market is bleak. Mostly all oil and gas companies come for placements that is halliburton, shell, chevron, exxon mobil etc .I am not aware how exactly the cell functions but links do exist between industries, faculty and alumni.
