It was a great all round experience. Canberra being a relatively small town, my best advice would be to form a close knit group of friends and to be involved in absolutely everything you can possibly be.
Although the selection process was competitive, the administration staff were extremely helpful. Being an international student, it was difficult to figure out the entry requirements (due to the two different education schemes in Australia and Sri Lanka), but the admin staff made the transition easy.
A wide array of scholarships were available for international students but again, they were quite competitive to receive. Assistance is particularly abundant if you are considering further research and post graduate programs at ANU. Grants and loans are plentiful since ANU is the country's leading research university.
The course was good and covered a wide variety of topics. The lectures were of a high quality and delivered by world class professors.
College life was great and full of activities. Would definitely recommend living on campus, especially if you are an international student. There were many oppurtunities to meet new people from around the world.
Job prospects did increase, particularly after honours. I found a job in medical research and my ANU undergraduate definitely played a big part in that. I am currently studying Medicine at UQ, a natural progression from my undergrad.
Located in Australian Capital Territory.
