I am happy with the structure, it is quite flexible. The city is quite okay. Actually Urbana and Champaign are 2 separate cities and UIUC is half in one and half in another. Job prospects are very good. Alumnus help in getting internships and jobs.
I had 2 give the SAT 1 and 2 Physics and Chemistry. I prepared on my own with books of Kaplan, Princeton Review and Barrons. The school counselor did the counseling. I needed a F1 visa. The process for the US visa was very simple. Interview was great and I got my visa w/o much hassle. All the prospective students neednt bother much about the visa just have your documentation rite and be honest at the interview. Flight was American Airlines, from New Delhi to Chicago via London. It was comfortable. 46 kg was the upper limit for baggage. I had no immigration issues. There was no pick up facility.
I didnt get any financial aid, but getting a job isnt that hard. There are a few merit based scholarships.
I am happy with the structure, it is quite flexible. Libraries and auditoriums are very very good.
I am living in Campus hostels, they are good. The city is quite okay. Actually Urbana and Champaign are 2 separate cities and UIUC is half in one and half in another. Urbana is suburban and Champaign is Urban. There are Intl societies. They hold diff activities n events from time 2 time in order to foster friendship.
There is a placement cell. Job prospects are very good since, UIUC is one of the top universities of US. Alumni network is very strong. Global orgs are always in touch with the placement cell. Alumnus do help in getting internships and jobs.
