I have absolutely loved every minute of my college experience. UCLA is a large place that allows students to grow and become independent agents of change. Anyone entering UCLA has to be aware of the fact that they are not a number, but they are a part of a large number of students, staff, and faculty. Any opportunity that they want, they have to make sure they get or even create on their own. Understanding classes and majors is better after talking to counselors as well as students already in the major.

It really is difficult for anyone who is not a California resident to get into UCLA. The best way to get into any US institution is to highlight the most meaningful experiences that you have had and how you plan on utilizing the knowledge that you gain at the school in life. Just be you.

Financial assistance and scholarships are few and far between for students not from California as the school is state-run school.

Political science provided a wide range of courses that teach students the broad ideas and concepts that apply to the field. Lectures are usually between 5 to 10 hours a week depending on the number of political science courses someone would take. Depending on the professor, most classes were really interesting and provided information not every student around the world could get. If I needed help and sought it out, it could be easily found. Political science is very much a writing-heavy course of study.

With over 1000 clubs and student organizations and an amazing campus, everything is possible. Los Angeles is a great city to explore as well. There is never a lull-- there is always something going on. While the dorms and apartments in the area are more expensive that most schools, you are living in a major city in the US. Part-time work is available on and off campus. The Dashew Center helps international students with their visa and any other concerns that they may have.

The alumni network is huge. With 5000+ people graduating each year in a variety of fields, the opportunities are immense. With the UCLA brand on your degree, it is very well known and recognizable as a quality institution around the world.
