I completed a Ph.D. at the Texas Tech University in 2004. My topic of research was Marriage and Family Therapy. I enjoyed my time at Texas Tech.
I was previously a student at the Syracuse University ; I completed an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2001 there.
I was a recipient of the following scholarships when I was a student at the Texas Tech University: Health and Social Services Scholarship (2003-2004); Health and Social Services Scholarship; Barns-Narsuti Scholarship (2002-2003); Health and Social Services Scholarship; Barns-Narsuti Scholarship; Human Sciences Scholarship (2001 - 2002)
My research interests are: Cultural adaptation of evidence-based parenting interventions for Latino/a populations ; Violence in Latino populations with a special emphasis on violence against women; Latino fatherhood and Latino masculinity. Even as a student at the Texas Tech University I was able to publish extensively.
I now work as on the Marriage and Family Therapy Program. at the Department of Family and Child Ecology in College of Social Science, Michigan State University.
