US degree is more recognised in India when compared to degrees from any other nation, including the degree from India. I chose Florida to do my research bcoz extensive research was being carried out at FIU in my area of interest. This would be an issue which I would advise all Indian students to consider. Apply to institutions which are engaged in research similar to your background.
Guys, the VOs are wary of research students going abroad...just got to convince them of ur plans to get back to India after completing the program. I faced no probs in getting the visa.
The university is home to cutting edge technology and a fantastic research facilities. Simply great.
