I chose the UK for my postdoctoral research because of the CV of my university supervisor, as well as the fact that my field of interest laser scanning technology is covered here. I value the laboratory at the School of Dentistry, all the software associated with my study, and the specialised laser equipment that we have.
Being a postgraduate has changed me in a positive way. Ive had to learn to become much more patient. Papers dont write themselves in a day or a week, they are long projects. So Ive learned to take my time and do the job properly. I value the laboratory at the School of Dentistry, all the software associated with my study, and the specialised laser equipment that we have.
It is slightly different being a postgraduate at my school, as we are not on the main campus. The good thing about this is that we are very close to Birmingham city centre. Plus we are a small department, so it is very supportive.
