Here in Bond, combined degrees are encouraged by the faculty of law and takes only between 3 years 4 months and 4 years full time. I am now doing Bachelor of International Relations / Bachelor of Laws. Other popular combinations include Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Laws, and Bachelor of Communication / Bachelor of Laws.

I have already completed a degree in Chinese law before coming to Bond. Students who have not completed a first degree have other option like enrolling in the LLB program or so since Bond follows the Australian tradition in admitting high school graduates direct to the LLB program. That means credit gained towards the elective component of the LLB degree will ordinarily be given for four subjects from any pre-law university studies.

A clinical legal subject is available as an elective. Students are encouraged and elect to complete clerkships or internships with law firms during holidays but these do not form part of degree requirements. I would suggest students enroll in those programs to save up some money since they do get paid for working in the field.

Bond's law program is designed to equip students for a career in the legal profession, business, industry or government, both within Australia and overseas. Its combination of excellent teaching, small classes and extensive legal skills program provides an exciting learning experience that both challenges students academically and prepares them practically for a legal career. I found that their teaching method is very helpful especially their 20-component skills program that aimed to equip students with the professional skills needed to practice law in a modern environment.

There are currently more than 20 students from China studying for law degrees at Bond university, in addition to ethnic Chinese students and faculty members from Australia and other countries. The University also has student exchange arrangements with Soochow University, China and with the Southwest University of Political Sciences and Law in Chongqing, China.

The Bachelor of Laws degree has been constructed to enable graduates to take leading positions in the public and private sectors, such as solicitor in private practice, barrister, government lawyer, in-house counsel and academia. I would go for further study in related field after completed the course.
