Macquarie University is an enjoyable university which provides its students with wonderful facilities and opportunities. It is located on the one campus making it easy to get to and easy to travel to classes. The university is situated in North Sydney, yet is still close to the city. The overall experience of life on campus is great with students being able to combine study with sociability quite well.
Postgraduate entry into Macquarie University for domestic students for this degree is done through UAC, and requires no professional experience. Unlike the Masters of Public Policy program at Macquarie no resume needs to be submitted along with application. In order to have a a stress free application apply well before the closing dates to ensure you have enough time. Again for enrolment into classes, enroll as early as possible to avoid missing out on class times that fit best into your schedule as popular tutorial times fill up quite quickly.
This course is quite complimentary, with material from International Relations and International Communications overlapping but also diverging. This provides students with the chance to study things which are somewhat similar, yet divergent enough to broaden their horizons. This course provides students with two masters degrees in one and a half years, saving students half a year of study time. Teaching staff are supportive and provide explanations and assistance to students when requested or required.
Macquarie University provides a great social experience for students with a plethora of clubs and societies for students to be active in. The university has numerous facilities including childcare centres, banks, a bookshop, a gym, a bar, cafes and a foodcourt. Across the road from the university is Macquarie Centre where a number of shops, restaurants, banks, and a cinema is located. There are a number of accommodation options including living on campus or living in the nearby suburbs.
As a result of studying the double Masters degree at Macquarie University I believe that job prospects will be increased. Both degrees offer both internship and research opportunities to students which can significantly add credibility and experience to a students resume. Macquarie University provides an alumni association for students to keep in touch and various networking events for alumni to socialise.
