I did not have to write any exams. I did need a visa. Visa interview was very easy. It was easy to get tickets. I flew Japan airlines. The service of the airline was good. I landed at Honolulu. The university is about 9 miles from the airport. I did not face any immigration issues at the port of entry. The university did not offer meet and greet and I had to find my own way.

I was very happy with the way the program was structured. The professors and faculty were good. The research environment was very good.

I lived at the YMCA in Atherton. I had access to the library. It was good. The university sports facilities were good. The night life and the social scene was good. I made a few friends. The weather was good.
