Its a good place. I mean to get in trade, holmesglen course is a recognised course. The professional qualification earned here is accepted everywhere. The name itself Holmesglen adds more rep.
I applied through an agent in Sri lanka. It took me a while. Initially i got it but i had to wait for my IELTS, because the tests were not held every week, so i had to wait a whole semester.
No, I dont have any scholarships. I am not sure if scholarships are available to internaitonal students studying here.
I am studying Retail Bakery. My best bits will have to be practicals. You learn to be more experienced, quick, efficient, learn recipes. The lectureres are people with great experience with a mnimum of 20-30 years of work experience, who started as bakers. They are not just teachers but experienced bakers. I have 4 days of classes. Overall, i would say its a good course.
As for the facilities, may institutes also offer internet but they charge some money, but here, it is free for the students. The buildings are new, the things are up to date. The teachers are locals who are well qualified. As a student you dont get much free time, i have met some people from my own country too.
Bakery is a tough job, i mea n the shifts are tougher, you have to work at nights at odd hours and especially its more tougher during summer. Furthermore, there are occupational hazards too.
