I would advise students to be prepared for a tough time to get a part time job in order to survive as there is less scope of getting them due to credit crunches.
I attended coaching class for IELTS. I needed a visa and I got it easily. The interview was fine. There was no problems regarding airline tickets at all. I got them easily. I flew Jet Airways and it was indeed good. They offered a student fare. I landed at Heathrow, London, it is about 1 hr distance from the university. We were allowed about 45 kgs in baggage, though excess baggage was not allowed. I did not face any immigration issues at the port of entry. The university offered Meet and Greet and I availed of it.
It is a very nice course. They are up to their level. The library is well equipped. The lecture halls are good.
I stayed in shared accommodation. They are huge and spacious. Initially, it will be very difficult to get a part time job. The social life is very good. Night life is enjoyable. The weather is very cold except 3 months of summer. The International student society is functional. It organizes campaigns, trips, etc.
The university has a placement cell. Its not very easy for international students to get part time jobs. We do have a campus placement process. They work through various organizations to get us placement. It is very difficult to get a work permit. There an Alumni society here, but I am not sure if they help with placements.
