The reputation of the ANU as a premiere research university, particularly in sciences, was the deciding factor when I was choosing a place to study. The fact that it is surrounded the relatively peaceful environment Canberra offers, compared to big cities like Sydney or Melbourne, particularly suits my life style.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the high quality of teaching and the extensive access to learning facilities the ANU has to offer, all of which I believe to be second to none. Student access to teaching staff has also proven most beneficial to my study. I enjoy the flexibility the Bachelor of Science degree has given me in selecting my courses. I indulge myself in the ability to do as much Chemistry as I like. Now that I am making the step towards the postgraduate level, I am pleased to know that I need not look further than where I am now for a respected place to study.
If you are one of those people who likes to try things out on your own, you will be pleased to know help is always around at the ANU should you need some. Information on just about anything is easily accessible. Whether it is through the ANU website, the countless pamphlets available on campus or just the good old fashion go talk to someone, getting information has never been easier. I have been at the ANU for three years now and those years have been one of the most enjoyable times in my life. It gives me a great sense of pride being an ANU student. This is a truly world class university and I am privileged to be a small part of it.
