I am really enjoying the university as it offers a lot of activities and interesting courses. The experience is surely worthwhile in studying here. This university is a very prestigious university, so if you get an admit here then it means you are really good and talented. So I encourage a lot of people to apply here and come here for their studies. The only thing is the weather. It gets really cold in the winters.
I had to write GRE and TOEFL tests. The standards are high to get into this university. So prepare well for these tests. Go through the requirements specified in the university webpage before applying to any university. This should be helpful to decide whether to apply to that university or not. Show necessary funds for visa and prepare answers to a few standard questions like why USA, why this university etc. I flew Lufthansa and for students 3 piece was allowed.
No funding for MS students.
The course is very nice and well planned. The professors give us a tentative plan of the course which help us to know what the course is about, which is the best part. Hours of lecture depend on the course taken by the student. Roughly 20 hrs a week is for studies. The facilities are awesome like a huge gym, swimming pools and tennis courts etc. The course and exposure I get here is surely worth the money I am spending. The professors are very nice and friendly and their method of teaching is also very simple which makes us understand the concepts. All the lecture notes are uploaded on the net for easy access.
Many activities happen on campus. Recently we all celebrated diwali night with food, fun and music. Lots of restaurants to eat. There are many clubs and organizations on campus among which is an Indian association. The downtown area is really nice with lots of malls and eat outs. Ann Arbor is a fun city to study in.
There are many on campus career fairs for recruitments. The market is slowly improving. There is an alumni network which help with placements.
