Overall it was good to study at Exeter . It opened my eyes and my brain to the international area and gain invaluable knowledge that I never knew before and might not have known if I had not come to the university.
Studying in Exeter University as a PhD. student was a good experience for me. It helped me to enhance my knowledge and build up my research skills. The research skills programme was useful because it helped me to develop my research plan and to tell me what I might face and how to handle it. The academic resources are brilliant. I could access useful journals and the Exeter library probably had all the journals relevant to my research interests. I had no trouble at all to get articles or papers that I wanted to consult. My supervisor was really great and helpful. We met regularly, about once a week, during my studies. His guidance and encouragement were invaluable as were his suggestions for papers and articles that helped me develop my research.
Especially as an international student, the programme also provided an opportunity to meet other research students and to discuss general problems we found when doing our research. The department also arranged seminars every week for research students and this informed me about research in other areas.
