I really enjoyed the course I did at Uni. The Western Sydney University is not a big one, but an affordable one in terms of tuition fee. I would think students should consider the financial aspects when choosing to study at this uni.
It was quite easy to get in the course. I was helped by an educational agent in my home country, and she told me everything I needed to do. I just needed to prepare some documents to apply for visa.
I did not have any scholarships or funding. Most of the tuition was paid by my parents. I paid the rest and the living expenses.
The course was tailor made to suit the needs of international students and local students who want to study linguistics at tertiary level. The lecturers and tutors were very friendly and helped me a lot in the first few months of the course.
The university facilities are alright. I enjoy the local areas with lots of cheap restaurants and affordable living expenses. I worked as a part time shop assistant in a Vietnamese shop. The shop owner was very nice and understanding. I did not participate in the Student Union activities.
My job prospect has increased a lot since I finished the course at Western Sydney Uni. I will be keeping in touch with other fellow alumni. I am working as a language teacher at an international school in Hong kong.
